Digital Archiving and Repository Policy

The Bahria University Journal of Islamic Studies is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and dissemination of its scholarly content through reliable archiving systems and open access repository practices.

 

Digital Archiving and Preservation

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN):
This journal utilizes the PKP Preservation Network to preserve its digital content. The PKP Preservation Network provides secure, decentralized, and permanent archiving for journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS), ensuring that the journal’s content remains safe and accessible over time.

LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe):
This journal also participates in the LOCKSS archiving system, which provides a distributed preservation network among participating libraries. LOCKSS ensures permanent preservation and restoration of the journal’s content.

These archiving systems ensure that the journal’s electronic content is securely preserved and will remain permanently available to researchers and scholars.

The BUJIS is committed to ensuring permanent availability and preservation of scholarly content through internationally recognized digital preservation services.

 

Repository Policy for Authors (Self-Archiving Policy)

This journal allows authors to deposit their published work in institutional repositories, subject repositories, and personal websites.

The following versions are permitted with mentioned conditions:

  • Submitted Version (Preprint): Allowed

  • Accepted Version (Author Accepted Manuscript): Allowed

  • Published Version (Version of Record): Allowed

      Conditions:

  • Proper citation and bibliographic details must be provided.

  • A link to the journal’s official website must be included.

  • The journal must be acknowledged as the original publisher.

Embargo Period:
There is no embargo period. Authors may deposit their work immediately after publication.
