Review Policy
BUJIS follows a transparent and structured submission and review process utilizing the Open Journal System (OJS). All authors, reviewers, and Editorial Committee members must register on the BUKC-OJS platform after accepting the journal’s terms and conditions as outlined in the Author Declaration Form.
To maintain the highest standards of research integrity and quality, BUJIS employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process involving both national and international reviewers.
Step-by-Step Review & Publication Process
1. Internal Review and Administrative Committee (IRAC)
Following the official call for papers, all submitted manuscripts undergo an initial evaluation by the Internal Review and Administrative Committee (IRAC). This assessment includes:
-
Relevance to the journal’s scope
-
Similarity index screening via plagiarism detection software
-
Quality of language and manuscript structure
-
Overall scholarly merit
Manuscripts that satisfy these criteria are forwarded to the editorial team for verification of:
-
Copyright compliance
-
Submission of the Declaration Form
-
Author consent for publication and applicable fees
Only manuscripts passing this internal review proceed to the next stage.
2. Double-Blind Peer Review (International and National)
Manuscripts approved by the IRAC are sent to two external reviewers (one national and one international) via the OJS platform. This phase entails:
-
A double-blind peer review ensures impartiality
-
Thorough evaluation of the methodology, originality, and contribution to the field
-
Assessment of academic quality, methodological rigor, and international relevance
Authors are required to address the feedback from both reviewers and submit revised manuscripts before moving forward to publication.
Note: Institutional or in-house reviewers are strictly prohibited from reviewing submissions to prevent conflicts of interest.
3. Finalization & Publication
After the manuscript receives final acceptance from the reviewers and completes editorial proofreading, the article will be published:
-
In print (hard copy)
-
Online on the official BUJIS OJS website as part of the Spring or Fall issue
