Policy of Transparency & Best Practices

Publishing Ethics for Reviewers

  • Reviewers should inform the publisher if they lack the expertise to evaluate a manuscript.

  • All manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents.

  • Peer reviews must be objective and unbiased.

  • Reviewers should provide their views with supporting arguments.

  • They must identify any relevant published work not cited by the author.

  • Reviewers are asked to complete prescribed forms to create their reports.

  • A summary with the reviewer’s final decision should be included at the beginning of the review.

  • Review decisions must clearly indicate if a manuscript is “rejected,” “accepted without revision,” or “needs revision,” with reasons specified.

Publishing Ethics for Authors

  • Authors must ensure that the manuscript is peer-reviewed or edited by language experts (Arabic/Urdu & English) before submission to BUJIS.

  • Citations and references must follow the latest Chicago Manual of Style.

  • A complete bibliography in English must be provided at the end of the manuscript.

  • Corresponding authors confirm the manuscript has not been submitted or considered for publication elsewhere.

  • Authors must declare any conflicts of interest.

  • BUJIS accepts submissions with a maximum of two authors.

  • Authors must ensure the work is original and properly cited, with adherence to international research ethics.

  • Author affiliation details must be included.

  • Once a manuscript is under review, it must not be submitted elsewhere unless rejected.

  • Authors must sign a contract/commitment giving BUJIS the right to distribute their article.

  • Authors must read and comply with the journal's submission guidelines.

  • A bibliographic search must be conducted to appropriately cite related works.

  • Authors are responsible for submitting original work and giving due credit for others’ contributions.

  • If the manuscript's similarity index exceeds 19% (as per HEC guidelines), it will be rejected.
