Policy of Transparency & Best Practices
Publishing Ethics for Reviewers
-
Reviewers should inform the publisher if they lack the expertise to evaluate a manuscript.
-
All manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents.
-
Peer reviews must be objective and unbiased.
-
Reviewers should provide their views with supporting arguments.
-
They must identify any relevant published work not cited by the author.
-
Reviewers are asked to complete prescribed forms to create their reports.
-
A summary with the reviewer’s final decision should be included at the beginning of the review.
-
Review decisions must clearly indicate if a manuscript is “rejected,” “accepted without revision,” or “needs revision,” with reasons specified.
